Some Details About DAMJam

Jam has been going since 2014.
Currently the Jam is held in Bethel, CT.
Approximately 15-20 +/- Jammers show up each time.
Acoustic guitars are the main instrument.
Some jammers choose to sing and some don't - that's just fine.
No electric guitars - except for bass.
There is typically one person with an electric bass.
A Cajon is played to set the beat for all.
Charts are provided for all the songs played - available online using the DAMJam database.
If a jammer doesn't know chords - it's okay to fake it until you do - most of us don't know them all either.
You will make new friends - possibly lifelong friends, we have seen it happen over and over.

This Site is What Sets Our Jam Apart From All Others

The database has nearly 6000 songs.
All songs are in a "dotted" format - called "The Dots."
The Dots allow everyone to play along - beginners to experts.
New songs are dotted and added all the time.
The site tracks what is played at each jam and keeps a history.
The History includes number of times played, when played, where played and more.

What is a Dotted Song?

The Dotted songs allows everyone, beginners to maestros to play along, whether you know the song or not!

Unlike other charts, where we might not know when to go to the next chord, a dot indicates the beat so we all know when to change.

Because everyone follows the Dots, no one gets left behind.

If you are not comfortable with a chord or two, no problem, someone will know it and cover for you.

In time you will be amazed at how may chords you can play just by participating.

Yes there is a small monthly fee - here's why...

Once you have joined you will have access to nearly 6000 songs.
The charts will be available to you 24/7 - whenever you want to play a song.
You can use these charts for other gigs as well as family outings and smaller jam get togethers.
As a DAMJam member you can request other songs to be dotted.
Note: fulfillment based on volunteers time
You will have access to the DAMJam Community, where you can share ideas, thoughts, shows, pictures and more with other jammers.

If you want to participate in a great music jam, DAMJam is the way to go. An extensive, ever-expanding library of songs (thousands!) at your fingertips is invaluable.
